It’s never too late to start…

It's never too late to start

Think it’s too late to go after your dreams?

Think that life has passed you by and that this is your lot in life?

Think that you’re too old to start fresh?

Think again.

Today, I want to share with you a story. A story about a man who lived on the streets for most of his life. His passion was writing and his dream was to one day publish a book. But from the way things looked, how could that ever happen?

He lived a harsh life on the streets. He had no money, no home, very little food and no ‘stuff’. Yet, he never gave up. And one day, everything changed…

Raimundo Arruda Sobrinho was homeless in São Paulo, Brazil, for nearly 35 years, and became locally known for sitting in the same spot and writing every day. In April 2011, he was befriended by a young woman named Shalla Monteiro. Impressed by his poetry and wanting to help him with his dream of publishing a book, she created a Facebook Page to feature Raimundo’s writing. Neither could have expected what happened next.”

I’m not going to tell you the full story. You need to watch this documentary about Raimundo called The Conditioned for yourself (it’s only 4 minutes—you can do it).

What I am going to tell you, is that it is never too late to follow your dreams. It is never too late to ‘start’.

Maybe you could offer a stranger your kindness and see what happens. Maybe you could make the difference in the life of another simply by being present. Maybe that life will be your own.

You’ll never know unless you start.

Watch the video.  It’s a start.
