Last week I asked members… If you had 15 minutes of my undivided attention, what question would you ask (BTW you can still ask me a question if you like)?
I have to say I had some very awesome questions—some were very specific and goal oriented, others were more general about the process of life transformation.
And then there was this question…
“Heather, what is the formula for success in life?“
At first, I fully admit I thought…“WOAH that is a HUGE question. There is no way I could answer that in just 15 minutes and who am I to know the true success formula?”
After all, success has so many variables and we are all on different paths; what works for you might not work for me, etc.
But then I thought about it some more and more and more. I came to the realization that really success is simple (not easy but simple) and that there are five keys to getting anything you want in life.
Burt Goldman said it best I think.
So here is the list…
If you like a thing, enjoy it.
If you don’t like it, avoid it.
If you can’t avoid it, change it.
If you can’t avoid it or change it; accept it.
You accept it by changing your attitude and thoughts about it.
Bingo! That’s it.
Enjoy what you like, avoid things that make you unhappy, change things if you can’t avoid them, accept what you cannot change, and ultimately change your attitude and thoughts to get you where you want to go.
I love it. While it may not always be easy to do these things, it is simple.
I suggest printing the list out and posting it where you can see it daily. When things get tough, go back to the list and see where you are on it.
