Have you ever thought or felt that there is just too much self-improvement stuff out there?
Are you just plain tired and burned out from all the self-improvement newsletters, emails, videos, webinars, teleseminars, masterclasses, etc. ?
Are you exhausted from all the noise that is just bombarding you every day? And to top it all off, you might wonder what is the point of it all?
“Why the heck do I even need improving anyway? I’m awesome just the way I am.”
I am there too and I am in the personal transformation biz, so I get it.
Sometimes, I too, just want to unsubscribe from everything and just coast.
Just be with things as they are and not worry about improving one more thing because dang it all, I’m actually pretty good just the way I am.
However, while I don’t really think there is anything about me that is broken or that needs fixing, I do still seek out and enjoy personal development materials most of the time.
I do this for a few reasons.
The first is to help my clients; the more I know, the more I can help (and save you from wading through all the materials yourself).
The second is to help myself; I am a life long learner and I don’t think you can ever really know enough. Plus, I think a lot of it is really cool and interesting.
But I do get tired of it all sometimes too and I just want to stop everything and do nothing for months.
That is why I loved this video by Marie Forleo. In it, she covers this very topic: Can you give personal development a rest?
Personally, I think that Yes, you can give it a rest and that we all should give it a rest at various times. Time to process all these lessons and time to just be who you are.
So give this short video a watch and then let me know in the comments below if you think you can ever give your personal development a rest and if you ever do.
